Our Mission
The Cezar Ungureanașu Memorial Scholarship was established by the family and friends of Cezar Ungureanașu to assist students of challenging financial circumstances and extraordinary ability currently enrolled in the “Grigore Moisil” Computer Science High School, Iași, Romania.
This scholarship specifically focuses on students who demonstrate financial need or have overcome great obstacles in their young lives, while exhibiting outstanding academic merit and a potential to become trailblazers and make an impact in their community.
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist students in gaining access to the educational opportunities offered by the nationally-recognized “Grigore Moisil” Computer Science High School; to help students complete their education and prepare for a career in technology; to nurture and empower students to become future leaders and mentors in their field.
The Cezar Ungureanașu Memorial Scholarship is annually-renewable and can be used for tuition, books, room & board, transportation, event fees, and other necessities.
“There are no problems, just opportunities.”
Established by Cezar Ungureanașu’s friends and colleagues, this scholarship award aims to honor his legacy, while having a meaningful impact in the lives of qualifying students from the “Grigore Moisil” Computer Science High School – Iași, Romania.
Cezar, himself a distinguished “Grigore Moisil” Computer Science High School graduate, kept a special place in his heart for his beautiful high school years, as well as for his closest friends, whom he met there. Throughout his life, Cezar always valued and supported educational initiatives, especially those targeting highly capable, hardworking, yet underprivileged students. Consequently, the scholarship program honoring his name is intended to inspire future generations through Cezar’s emblematic character, academic excellence, and remarkable humanity.
The decision to create a scholarship award in Cezar’s name was both easy and fitting. The act of giving came so naturally to Cezar!
He had the rare capacity to identify need and offer help, well before the recipients could overcome their reluctance to reach out and ask for assistance. This is how Cezar led his life, touching so many others with his contributions of empathy and care, leaving such an indelible mark in everything he was a part of.
Cezar’s work colleagues saw no less of a generous soul in him, a gifted and brilliant computer scientist who dedicated himself to the study and advancement of technology, with a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of the field. Quick to not only challenge an approach, but also volunteer to improve it, Cezar garnered admiration and respect from his colleagues.
In keeping with Cezar’s favorite quote, “There are no problems, just opportunities,” we are embarking on a mission to offer assistance to students of capability and need, so that they, in turn, can ascertain their place in the world.
